Our creative studio was born out of a simple desire to collaborate on projects together. With backgrounds in photojournalism, content curation, narrative storytelling, video production, and motion design, we knew that our combined talents would result in empowering and intentional growth for our clients.
To us, La Palma is all about collaboration and connection – even down to the name. Nina is from southern California and Ricardo is from the south of Spain, so palm trees are meaningful to us both. Additionally, “la palma” in Spanish refers to the palm of the hand, and we loved this little nod to creation and handcrafting with love and care.

Photographer + Creative DirectorPhotography has been Nina’s passion since the age 12, with the gift of her first point-and-shoot film camera from her dad. She further developed her skills studying photojournalism and art history in college. Her extensive experience has led her to freelance work for all kinds of brands, getting to illuminate business goals, unique brand stories, and personal moments, equally. With keen insight into large-scale brand visual needs as well as the very human things that make us tick, Nina is inspired by new and diverse places, people, and ideas. Her photography has given her unique access to stories that not many people get to experience, and she brings this passion and openness to every project.

Filmmaker + Creative DirectorRicardo is a director and digital artist who’s worked on many projects in digital media, TV, live events, projection mapping, video games, and film for over a decade. He thrives on conceptualizing and creating beautiful films and motion graphic visuals that communicate the brand’s ethos, create transparency, and build a community of loyal customers. In all things, Ricardo centers a human-first approach and commitment to tangible societal benefits. Having lived in more than 10 cities around the world, he loves sharing knowledge and understanding other approaches to an idea. He aims to help people connect to their purpose in our fast-paced world.
